Preparation
Before you flash new firmware
- Save a copy of your settings. In the web server, open CONFIG and click EXPORT CONFIG to store your current configuration as a text file, so you have a full record of every setting to re-apply afterwards. Details are in the config export chapter.
- Reset if the unit misbehaves. If anything acts strangely after an update, return to factory defaults: on the CONFIG page type RESET in the text field, click RESET and power cycle the unit. The separate EDID FACTORY SETTINGS option (tick its check box, type RESET, click RESET) clears the EDID settings.
- Reload the web interface. Once the unit has restarted, do a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5 on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on macOS) or empty the browser cache, or you may still see the previous version of the interface.
- Allow about 15 seconds. The OLED shows no logo or information during the restart, while the unit reconfigures itself. This is expected.
Step-by-step instructions for selecting the file, flashing it and checking the new version number are in the firmware update chapter of the manual.
