CHAPTER 11

Controlling the DR HDMI 8K with IP, Telnet and HTTP commands

Send lowercase get and set commands to port 2201 and the unit can be run from a control system or a script. The complete command list comes with every firmware package.

The DR HDMI 8K can be fully controlled via IP, Telnet or HTTP commands. This is the path to use from a control system, a home-automation processor or a script.

Connection

The default IP port is 2201, so the target is of the form 192.168.1.100:2201. Use lowercase characters only.

When using IP, each command must end with a carriage return \r or a newline \n. Each response has both a carriage return and a newline added, in the format <cr><lf>.

Command syntax

Writing a value

set x y — set indicates a value will be written to the unit, x is the target to be written, and y is the value or values.

Reading a value

get x — get indicates a value will be read from the unit, and x is the target to be read.

The command list

The full command list is included as a text file in every firmware package. Use the list that ships with the package matching the firmware currently on your unit, because commands can be added between revisions.

Pro tip: some control systems, iRule among them, need \x0D instead of \r (and \x0A instead of \n) to terminate the command string.

The IP port itself can be changed on the CONFIG page, and IP interrupts can be enabled there for control systems that require them.
